Doreen's Birthday

So today was my sister's birthday, I had to work which sucked because all she got to do is sit home with my mom. Tell I got off work then we went to the Home and Garden show at the fairgrounds, (which my mom wanted to do), me and Doreen really could not figure out why, but we just went along and said ok! Not really what Doreen had in mind to do on her birthday but it made mom happy! So when we were there we went and had Philly Cheesesteak sandwhichs which is where Doreen wanted to go. Then we came home and a few friends came over and we had cake and opened presents. I made a banana cake with mocha frosting it was really good. I have to pat myself on the back because I usually do not do anything like that and yes I made it. ok so it came from a box but I still made it and frosted it which I am not really sure I have ever done at least not in a LONG time!

Tomorrow we have plans to go and have pizza with Kevin and Shannon and the girls. It should be fun! I will try and post some pictures of that tomorrow!

I am getting really excited for the Spring/Summer to get here. I am not really sure who reads this other than Beth, but for those of you that read it Beth is coming to visit in April and we are both very excited because she is coming to visit so that we can go see Bon Jovi together.

Before that happens I have a trip planned to go to Reno for my birthday. Just me mom and Dor, we are going to go see an old friend of mine that use to work with me that I have not seen in a very long time! Should be fun!

Ok I think I have rambled enough for now! Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! For some it is a long weekend but not for me I will be back at work Monday, then I have Tuesday and Wednesday off and I work Thurs and off Friday. Doreen's best friend Ami from MA daughter will be here Sunday and goes home on Thursday so that is why my sched is weird!! Should be fun Hayley is 13 so it will be different!

Happy Hollow

So Saturday we took London to Happy Hallow which is a little kids amusement park and a tiny zoo. It was a blast. I am really ready to have a kid of my own, except a little scared that I won't be able to handle everything, but we shall see I have tons of support so I am sure it will all work out!

Here are a few pictures of the adventure!

Debi and London feeding goats!

This is on the way home she was out for the count!!

Sunday Dinners

Ok so for most of you reading this, you know that I am not really a cook. My sister does most of the cooking and I just assist and clean up. Well we started this new rule that I cook Sunday night dinners, and we only did this because my friend Laurie has bought me 2 Weight Watcher cookbooks in the last couple of months and I have found some recipes that I wanted Doreen to try. So she thought it would be fun to make me in charge of dinner one night a week.

So the first Sunday was last week and I made Orange Beef with Brocoli and it was nasty!! My mom liked it (but she likes everything), me and Doreen ate it but said it NEVER had to be made again.

Tonight I made Cheesy Sloppy Joes! They were awesome, So I thought I would post the recipe for people to try it! Now it is a Weight Watcher meal and it is a lot of food.

Prep time 5min cook time 15 min serves 6 and if you are on WW it is 4 points per serving

my weekend

Ok so my weekend started out with babysitting Kennsington. Which I volunteered to do because Shannon had to work and Kevin and London were in Disneyland! She is so good, she would not leave my side, and heavon for bid if I left the room. So this is what we ended up doing:

So then we woke up and drank some more to see if we could go back to sleep:

Then I went and ran errands when Shannon picked Kennsi up. Sunday I spent most of the day going back and forth between my house and my mom's to help my mom get her tax stuff so that she could go through it and have it ready before April.

So I thought I would share some pictures. Now I am off to bed so that I can get up and start all over.

Starbuck Cup

Ok so I am drinking my cup of Starbucks at work waiting for the computer tech to finish whatever he is doing with our system, so that I can go back to work. I never really read the sides of my cups becasue quite honestly I usually bring my own cup, but this morning someone brought me coffee. So I am reading the side of the cup and it is just so true that I have to post what it said.

The way I see it #267

Music can lift us out of depression or move us to tears - it is a remedy, a tonic, orange juice for the ear. But for manu of my neurological patients, music is even more - it can provide access, even when no medication can, to movement, to speech, to life. For them, music is not a luxury, but a necessity.

Now for most of you know that I am a huge music listener and will pretty much listen to anything, and this is so true. Again most of you know that my sister is very ill, and has good and bad days. Well if she is having a bad day if she listens to any kind of music it helps her go on, she mostly likes to listen to Garth on these days but anything will do. We have always told each other if either one of us goes into comma then before we give up and pull the plug to make sure that the doctor has played all the music we want. So this is a really neat saying for a cup!

Hope everyone is good I am at work and probably going to get in trouble for not working but I thought this was important to put out there!

Updates

Well I just wanted to let everyone know that we got some bad news about grandma. We got a call from her doctor the other day and they want to bring in Hospice. The doctor says she probably has less than 6 months to live. She is loosing alot of weight and refusing to eat. She has not really been all that together for a long time so at this point it probably would be a good thing just for her to go to sleep and not wake up.

Mom is taking it better than me and Doreen expected. I think she was mentally ready for it but I am sure it is still hard, specially since my mom is about the only person my grandmother still reconizes. As awful as it sounds me and Doreen wish it would just happen so that my mom will calm down.

Other news is that we will hopefully start the house building as soon as the weather gets better. As in when it stops raining. Hopefully it will be done by the middle of summer so that we can get moved before the weather gets cold and the Holidays come again. I will keep everyone informed as to how that goes.

I am hanging in there working going to the gym 3 nights a week and doing line dance. I am enjoying all of the above, as well as me and Shannon (the contractors wife) are going to start walking in the morning before work. That would be about 5:30Am for people that wanted to know. We are waiting for the rain to stop so we do not get sick from the rain.

Well I am at work and need to start because it is almost 7. Hope everyone is well.

Line Dancing and stuff

Ok so I started my line dance class last night for the the second course, but the first class since before Thanksgiving. Oh it was hecka fun but I am so sore this morning that it is not even funny. I am having a problem knowing which foot is right or left, and listening to the music because I really like some of the music we are dancing too.

Well Doreen had a check up with her Specialist yesterday and he said that things look ok, but she really needs to lose some weight and I just do not know what to do. I have tried and tried to get her to do something and she does it for maybe twice and then that is it. Last year I spent 115.00 of my own money to help her join the gym that I am going to that is right down the street all female gym, 2 VERY nice people that own it and they were physical therapy majors so they were willing to help Doreen, and they both were totally ok with the oxygen and really wanted to help. I think she went 3-4 times in 3-4 months and then decided that she just could not do it and gtot a doctors note to cancel it, did I get my money back no! If anyone has any ideas please let me know. I would appreciate and try anything at this point.

I am doing pretty good at work, have alot of it so that is good. I am back to doing just my job and helping the accountent with some projects. So that means I am back to the part time hours which is really nice, because it has allowed me to get back to the gym and other things that I have wanted to do, like starting to pack my house.

We finally appealed the School Board so we are waiting for them to call to see what they have to say about our appeal. Please everyone pray that they say ok you do not have to pay this tax so that the building can start before I am really screwed.

Well I need to get to work so that is all for now. It pretty much caught everyone up to somewhat as to what is going on here. I will try and do better at keeping this up to weekly if not every other day.

Our trip to Reagan Library!
